This has to be my favourite pub. Traditional, unspoilt, small and friendly local. The pub has a selection of Moorhouse's cask ales and a different guest beer each week. Blonde Witch is my personal favourite tipple. The landlord John is friendly and keeps his beers well. This is a great pub for those who know and like their ale. John the landlord is the editor of 'Which Beer'.
The pub has a small menu of traditional pub food. The pie and peas with onions and gravy are a personal favourite. This is one of the few pubs where you can still get the East Lancashire delicacy of 'stew and hard'.
